KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Detention Renewal Judge has renewed the detention of the suspects – Assistant Undersecretary for Training Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah, a senior official working for the Public Authority for Manpower and a former National Assembly elections contestant from the Fourth Constituency – to another 14 days, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah

When confronted with the facts of human trafficking, money laundering, exploitation of influence and bribery, the suspects denied the accusations. Al-Jarrah said they are untrue and denied any relationship with Bangladeshi MP, and once again stressed that the only person he has a purely business relationship is the ‘parliament elections contestant’. In the meantime, the judge refused defense requests to release the suspects on any guarantee it deems necessary.

However, the Public Prosecution, during the same session yesterday decided to release a company director identified only as F.S. on ten thousand dinars bail, but slapped a travel ban against him. The daily said F.S., who works for a well-known businessman, is considered a link between Bangladeshi MP and senior officials related to the Bangladeshi workforce.
