KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: In confirmation of what was published by the Al-Qabas daily on a flurry of resignations at the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), the daily quoting reliable sources say the Executive Vice-President of the KNPC at Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, Fahad Al-Daihani, the Executive Vice- President of the company for Mina Abdullah refinery, engineer Wadha Al-Khatib, and a number of the company’s managers have reportedly submitted collective resignations, reports Al-Qabas daily.
This is in addition to a group of heads of operations teams who have submitted requests for transfer from their departments citing administrative problems, diminished powers, and suspicions of manipulation in promotions and what they called ‘trade-offs’.
The same sources said the crisis was exacerbated by the continuation of the series of suspicions regarding the oil sector promotions without interruption and without any deterrence, as the last episode of this series was the promotion of the director of environmental fuel operations at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, after 10 team leaders were nominated for this position but the candidate who has been promoted was not among the ten.
