PARIS, July 2: The Kuwaiti Embassy in Paris has called on Kuwaitis in Paris and other French cities to be vigilant and stay away from gatherings and protests. In a press statement issued on Friday, the embassy advised Kuwaitis to follow the instructions of the French authorities and contact the embassy for enquiries or assistance on: +33670673834.

Elsewhere, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad said Thursday the government is following up with great concern the developments of the tragic death of Nahel, a 17-year old Algerian teenager who was shot dead by a French policeman in Paris on Tuesday night.

The horrible incident shocked the Algerian government which always stands by its nationals abroad in difficult times, according to a press release from the Ministry. The Ministry expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved family, adding that it is confident that the French government would shoulder its responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of Algerian expatriates and restore calm. The tragic incident triggered angry protests in several suburbs of Paris, particularly in Nanterre, over the last two nights while the policeman was remanded in custody pending questioning by prosecutors.(KUNA)
