RIYADH, June 3, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Embassy’s Military Attache in Riyadh Brigadier Mohammad Al- Farhan commended on Friday close relations between military institutions of the two countries. While attending a graduation ceremony of Kuwaiti cadets from several Saudi military colleges, Al-Farhan lauded in a statement to KUNA the depth of bilateral relations in all fields, mainly military, that have been supported by the political leaders of the two countries. He referred to high military and academic levels of all Saudi military colleges from which scores of Kuwaitis graduated over last decades.

He said Saudi military institutions are most prestigious ones in the Middle East region. Al-Farhan expressed his gratitude to officials of Saudi Ministry of Defense to allow Kuwaitis to study at these colleges, indicating that this aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides. About 11 Kuwaiti cadets graduated from Saudi military colleges. Furthermore, Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, Poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain has planted a tree for world peace at Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.

This tree is gifted from the people of Kuwait as an expression of love to peace and to the University of Oxford, he told KUNA, adding that this tree may stay for 100 years, or even 1000 years. He stressed that Kuwaitis and Arabs are peace loving people. This ceremony, which is attended by several world renowned intellectuals and thinkers led by American philosopher Noam Chomsky, sends a message to the world that Kuwaitis and Arabs are supporting world peace and are willing to work and cooperate with anyone for the same cause, he told KUNA.

He shed lights on His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah humanitarian activities toward people in need across the world. Kuwait’s Amir effective humanitarian activities have qualified him to be proclaimed by the UN as a “Humanitarian Leader” and to name Kuwait as a “Humanitarian Center”, Al-Babtain said. Furthermore, Naom Chomsky told KUNA, despite the problems in the Middle East, Kuwait is an outstanding example of the nation that loves and spreads peace culture worldwide. Chomsky hailed honoring him by Al-Babtain Foundation asserting this recognition is an indication of Kuwait’s effort to spread humanitarian ethics which gets people from all over the world together.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Ambassador to the United Kingdom Khaled Al-Duwaisan lauded Al- Babtain Cultural Foundation’s move which shows Kuwait’s role in bringing peace to the world. “When Kuwait is mentioned in any international forum you hear appreciations from different participants due to its outstanding diplomatic and humanitarian role.”
