KUWAIT CITY, March 25, (KUNA): Kuwait U-23 Olympic soccer team missed the chance to qualify for AFC Asian Cup finals with 2-0 loss to Syria on Sunday. The Syrian team scored their first goal in the 9th minute of the first half after a fatal mistake from the Kuwaiti goalkeeper.

The second goal came in the 22nd minute after another mistake by the defense. In the second match of the same competition, the Jordanian Olympic defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-0 to lead the group with six points by scoring more goals than the Syrian team.

The final round will be between Jordan and Syria, and will determine who will qualify for the AFC finals. The qualifying system requires the qualification of 11 teams from the top of the groups to the finals in Thailand next year.

The next round will be held next Tuesday with two matches, the first between Kuwaiti and Kyrgyzstan, and the second between Jordan and Syria.
