KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Kuwaiti powerboat team has secured third place in the X-Cat World Championship for two-engined boats with a 400 horsepower per engine capacity, which concluded in Rome, Italy on Sunday. The team achieved this position with their boat (Q8B-17), led by captain Abdul Latif Al-Omani and assistant Bader Al-Dosari.
Ali Al-Shamali, the head of the national team delegation and head of the Powerboats and Wakeboard Committee at the Kuwaiti Maritime Sports Club, stated in a press release that the championship witnessed stiff competition, with participation from seven countries, including the European side of Kuwait and the UAE through the boat (Fazza).
-Shamali attributed the team's success to the "great efforts" made by all members and the strong support provided by the General Authority for Sports and the Board of Directors of the Marine Club. This achievement followed the team's victory in the World Endurance Championship for single-engine boats with a 300 horsepower capacity, which was held in the Spanish city of Malaga, where the Kuwaiti boat (Raheeb B17), led by Bader Al-Dosari and his assistant Mohammed Al-Esayi, clinched the first-round title.
