KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: A Sri Lankan expatriate was arrested for touching a Kuwaiti woman inappropriately even though he claimed that he was just giving her a handshake as a way of greeting her. According to security sources, the Kuwaiti woman lodged a complaint at Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station against her neighbor’s Sri Lankan driver, accusing him of touching her inappropriately and running away.
After the suspect was arrested and questioned, he said he had only given her a handshake to greet her. Necessary action was taken against him and he was detained in the police station and will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
Meanwhile, a 33-year Kuwaiti woman lodged a complaint at Salmiya Police Station against an unknown individual who was driving a black-colored car, accusing him of harassing her and using offensive words. Using the information provided by the victim, securitymen have launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.
Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen, who is wanted by law over a State Security case, was arrested in Fintas area. According to security sources, securitymen were patrolling Fintas area when they suspected a vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over.
They checked his details to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by the State Security Department. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities. And, a Syrian expatriate who is wanted by law for his involvement in two financial fraud cases was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. In addition, a Nepali expatriate was arrested for non-payment of a debt worth KD 320 to one of the companies.
