KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Police have detained for interrogation an unidentified motorist for intentionally running over and killing a Kuwaiti woman in Abu Futaira.

A security source said this happened when the suspect and the victim’s husband were involved in a dispute and the accused allegedly unleashed his dog (the type used by police) to frighten the husband.

According to a security source, the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report about the suspect who had escaped from the scene after running over a woman.

Police and paramedics rushed to the spot and saw the woman lying on the ground in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the hospital but doctors failed to revive her.

The security source added investigations and listening to the statements of witnesses the suspect was arrested and referred to the Criminal Evidences Department.

According to the security source, the suspect went to the victim’s house because of differences between him and her husband.

The source added, the suspect wanted to take the woman with him by force and when the husband intervened , he unleashed the dog on the husband. He then tried to drag the woman to his car but he could not bundle her in his vehicle, so he ran over her and caused her severe injuries which led to her death inside the hospital.
