KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) is currently investigating the alleged forgery of official records at the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs (PADA), reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed that Nazaha asked PADA to submit documents and files related to the case, as well as the records suspected to have been forged, after Nazaha monitored social media posts in this regard.
Sources said Nazaha received reports about the alleged manipulation of the degree of disability in the medical files of some cases as per the request of the concerned officials. Sources affirmed an investigation into the case followed immediately, while the collection of evidence and relevant documents has started. Sources added PADA has been fully cooperating with Nazaha in terms of handing over the required documents.
Sources affirmed the commitment of PADA Director General Dr Shafiqa Al-Awadi in providing everything that Nazaha needs in the investigation. Sources said PADA is keen on tightening control over procedures related to medical reports and degree of disability in order to ensure justice for all. Sources revealed Al-Awadi issued a directive that no officials or external intermediaries should interfere in this file; indicating the investigation is aimed at protecting the money of citizens covered by the Disabled Law, such that privileges are granted only to the deserving.
