KUWAIT CITY, March 11: An Asian expatriate was taken into police custody for removing his clothes in public, says Al-Seyassah. Apparently, a Kuwaiti citizen notified the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry that a person had taken off his clothes in Rumaithiya area, and a team of securitymen went to the scene to deal with the situation. Passersby said the Asian man came out of his car and started chanting ‘there’s no meaning to life’. He is expected to be referred for psychiatric evaluation by concerned authorities.
Man commits suicide: An unidentified Lebanese reportedly ended his life mid-day Thursday by jumping to his death from the fourth floor of his apartment in Hawalli off Qutaiba Street, reports Al- Rai daily. The daily added, as soon as the Operations of the Ministry of Interior received information on the incident, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department rushed to the spot and referred the remains to Forensics. According to the investigations, family and material problems pushed the jobless man to end his life. It has also been reported after the 52-year-old man lost his job he was unable to fi nd another and had to take the drastic step. The man’s Syrian wife who works as pharmacist screamed for help but no one could prevent her husband from ending his life. He is survived by his wife and two sons, one of them living abroad.
Indian held with liquor: An unidentified Indian who was caught in possession of 162 bottles of locally-manufactured alcohol by the Ahmadi police, has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the bootlegger who works for a home delivery restaurant, was caught in Mahboula.
