KUWAIT CITY, April 12: The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kuwait, Emil Karimov, said the government of Azerbaijan is determined to facilitate the entry of tourists to Azerbaijan without any hassles and has canceled the vaccination requirements from the beginning of this month for all tourists entering Baku, reports Al-Qabas daily. Karimov explained that “tourists coming from Kuwait and other countries can now enter Azerbaijan without presenting a vaccination certificate,” noting that “more than 22,000 Kuwaitis visited Azerbaijan in 2022 and said the number of Kuwaiti tourists is constantly increasing. He reviewed the history of Kuwaiti- Azerbaijani relations, which began 30 years ago, and which culminated in President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Kuwait in 2009.
He explained that bilateral relations have historical, cultural and religious roots, and Kuwait provided humanitarian aid to Azerbaijan and supported the country in all international forums. He pointed out that the Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways operate 6 direct flights per week to Azerbaijan, and added Azeri Airlines will resume direct flights from Kuwait to Baku on April 22. Karimov renewed his country’s readiness to “cooperate with Kuwait in the field of food security and the provision of meat and agricultural products,” pointing to “the supply of some agricultural products from Baku to Kuwait, in return we import oil and diesel derivatives from Kuwait.” Karimov called on Kuwaiti investors to invest in his country, not only in the field of real estate, but also in the fields of agriculture, tourism and industry of various kinds, pointing out that “there are facilities provided by the state to the foreign investor, including exemption from taxes and ensuring the ease of entry and exit of capital.”
