KIPIC assigned to implement work according to MoH plan
KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Oil sector has proven its worth and accuracy in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it by government, not only at the level of oil projects, but also in assignments outside its specialization. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) succeeded in establishing, equipping and preparing a field hospital in Hall No. (4) at Kuwait International Fair Grounds at Mishref, in a record time – which is no more than two weeks after the issuance of mandatory decision by the Council of Ministers.
According to a plan developed in that regard, the CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Hashem Al-Hashem after the issuance of Cabinet Resolution No. (522), directed the KOC and KIPIC companies to quickly implement contents of the ministerial decision under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. Accordingly, roles were assigned to implement the field hospital in record time.
During a tour of the field hospital recently, the daily gathered that KIPIC was assigned to create and implement the work according to plan agreed upon by the Ministry of Health for Hall No. 4, which has an area of 10,000 square meters.
The plan is to construct and execute all civil, electrical and health work, which includes the creation of entrances, special sterilization exits for doctors, and establishment of additional toilets and warehouses for equipment and medical supplies.
KIPIC also established a lounge for doctors and private bathrooms for medical staff, establishment of a medical emergency room and recovery room, laboratory and pharmacy, a special department for radiation, and the establishment of medical gas station and the provision of an integrated electrical system for emergencies.
As for Kuwait Oil Company, it made great efforts in establishing the field hospital, where it supplied and installed medical devices and the provision of 260 medical beds, which includes 40 beds for intensive care, supply and installation of medical devices for recovery.
It also entailed supply and installation of medical devices for laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology department, amid the supply and installation of electronic devices, medical supplies and medical furniture. Affiliates of oil sector demonstrated in this crisis the speed and accuracy of implementing projects, in accordance with the highest international health standards.
During the tour, the daily met with Head of the Procurement and Materials Management Team at KIPIC Nasser Al-Dahsh who said that oil sector succeeded in completing the field hospital at the exhibition grounds in terms of purchasing medical and electronic devices for equipment in a record time, indicating the delivery period was 3 days, and it fully cooperated with local suppliers and colleagues at KOC.
Abdullah Youssef Al-Amer from the Department of Procurement at KIPIC said the field hospital was implemented by KOC and KIPIC, while the experience of Kuwait Oil Company in the management of hospitals gave it strength to receive advanced technical matters, stressing the hospital is highly developed, because it contains oxygen station, sterilizers and emergency devices.
