Illegal taxi service by private cars are flourishing
KUWAIT CITY, Jul 27: The head of the Kuwait Federation of Commercial Taxi Merchants, Khairan Al-Ajmi stated that opening of taxis and call taxis needs to be operated as before and not just with one passenger.

Al-Ajmi stated to Al Rai, that the owners of the taxi offices have incurred heavy losses, and they have obligations to pay car loans, drivers and workers' wages in addition to their office rents.
He added that the competent authorities need to re-examine the decision of 'one passenger only' in accordance with health requirements which is difficult to implement. He further stated that if there is a husband and wife, or a mother and her son or a woman and her servant, how should a driver handle such a situation?
He stated that by forcefully stopping the taxi service revived private cars to indulge in transporting passengers illegally, surprisingly this 'one passenger' law prevents taxis who have a license but on other hand it allows the violators to transport more than one passengers.
