Training program held in co-op with Industries Union
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: Deputy Director General of the National Labor Sector in the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Abdullah Al-Mutatah affirmed that the authority will soon adopt a special regulation for Kuwaitizing jobs in the government sector, reports Al-Rai. Speaking on the sidelines of the training program organized by the authority in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Industries Union recently, Al-Mutatah revealed a ministerial decision will be issued regarding the special regulation, which is aimed at ensuring smooth flow of work procedures in ministries, especially those related to government contracts.
On the requirement to employ a certain percentage of Kuwaitis for government projects, Al- Mutatah confirmed the percentage has been specified and this should be applied on all government projects. He said the sector is keen on implementing its annual work program, including the Open Day for the recruitment of citizens in the banking sector, which is held every February.
Talking about the plan to equalize national workers in the private sector with their counterparts in government agencies, Al-Mutatah explained “the opportunities and privileges are still being studied in cooperation with the concerned authorities. We will announce them once approval from the relevant authorities is obtained.” On increasing the required percentage of national workers in the private sector, he said this has been submitted to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for approval.
