KUWAIT CITY, June 25: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs keeping in mind that to serve the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God a great honor, especially amid the unlimited support of the political leadership, which clearly expresses the keenness and the greatest motivation to serve those worshipers, says it dedicated to work to improve the service of Kuwaiti pilgrims and facilitate their Hajj pilgrimage, reports Al-Qabas daily. In accordance with its perseverance in improving its procedures and steps year after year, the Ministry says it will do everything that would facilitate the pilgrims.

Nonetheless, Awqaf is doing a good job in developing its service system and all that is necessary for all pilgrims from Kuwait and providing comfort and their needs by registering them electronically or securing housing and service to and from the airport. In this regard, the Assistant Undersecretary for Media and External Relations and Deputy Head of the Hajj Mission at the Ministry of Endowments, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, said the plan related to this began early this year with the central registration with the Ministry, so that this would be done electronically through the Hajj platform. He stated agreements have been signed with several Saudi authorities to serve Kuwaiti pilgrims, including the approval of a quota of 8,000 pilgrims from Kuwait and 1,000 bedoun pilgrims.

He mentioned Awqaf has also signed a contract with a company to provide the necessary services to Kuwaiti pilgrims, supervising camps, feeding, reception and farewell, in addition to signing an agreement with an office in Jeddah to receive pilgrims, arrange their affairs at all ports and complete their travel procedures.

Meanwhile, earlier the Deputy Director General for Planning and Projects Affairs and official spokesperson of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Saad Al-Otaibi has affirmed the completion of preparations for the Hajj season, in cooperation with the concerned government agencies; such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC), Kuwaiti Hajj caravans and companies, aviation and ground service providers, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Otaibi said the first trip to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj season was last week, indicating the pilgrims would be onboard five Kuwaiti and Saudi airlines. He disclosed the Kuwait Airways flights would take off from Terminal 4, Jazeera Airways at Terminal 5; while the Saudi, FlyNas and FlyaDeal flights will be at the main passenger Terminal (T1).

The DGCA had earlier announced that 75 fllights will be operated for the current Hajj season to transport 9,000 pilgrims to the Holy House of God. Al-Otaibi praised the coordinated efforts of all parties involved in the operational plan for the Hajj season; citing the direct follow up of Public Works Minister Amani Bukmaz and supervision of acting DGCA Director General Imad Al-Jalawi. He wishes for the success of the movement of pilgrims from Kuwait International Airport to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
