KUWAIT CITY, June 8: The Public Authority for Manpower is considering allowing the transfer of work permits for laborers of the agricultural, industrial, shepherding and fishing sectors with the approval of their sponsors.

For this service, the authority is planning to charge KD 300, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources. They explained that the laborers will be allowed to transfer their sponsors but within the same sector.

After this decision is implemented, all transfer requests in this regard will be referred to a special committee in the headquarters of the authority in Jabriya area where they will be studied and accordingly approved or rejected.

The sources indicated that the Public Authority for Manpower earlier issued a decision to allow the transfer of work permits for private sector employees after one year of service and with the approval of their employers.

Except for the laborers of the agricultural, industrial, shepherding and fishing sectors, the one year service condition is exempted for employees recruited from overseas, if their employers agree.
