KUWAIT CITY, Mar 09: According to the directives of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Khaled Al-Saleh and the instructions of the Under-Secretary-General, Issam Salem Al-Nahham, given the exceptional circumstances Kuwait and neighboring countries are experiencing from coronavirus from humanitarian aspect for those who are strandard decision has been made to ease their suffering.
The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Residence Affairs Major General Talal Marafi stated that with coordination with the Ministries of Interior and Health and the General Authority for Civil Information
Sponsors or company representative should visit Public Authority for Manpower to renew the residence of employers of private sector (Article 18) provided they have a valid passport.
Major General Marafie also stated that it is possible to renew the residence of a domestic worker, Article (20) if they are outside the country, where the citizens have to go to the residence affairs department to complete the transaction according to the terms and conditions.
Major General Marafie stated in regards to family visa in order to reunite the family it has been decided to renew the residence permit for those family members who are outside the country, provided that the passport is valid. If the head of family is outside the State of Kuwait his wife and children will be granted temporary residence in accordance with the established rules and conditions.
For those whose family is outside the head of the family should go to the residence affairs department in his area to renew the residence of his family.
For those on visit visa it has been decided to extend all visit visa for a period of two months, and to extend the leave of absence for a period of three months, which can be renewed according to the current circumstances.
He further state that this rule is for following countries: India, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Thailand, Italy, South Korea, Japan,and Singapore. (Al Rai)
