KUWAIT CITY, March 12: Officers from the General Department for Residency Investigations affiliated to the Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sector raided a domestic labor office and arrested 21 African expatriates including 19 women and two men. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, when the department obtained information that a domestic labor office has been harboring individuals who have violated the residency law, a team was formed for investigations.
After confirming the information and obtaining legal permission, the officers raided the office and arrested 19 women and 2 men holding Ethiopian, Ghanaian and Eritrean nationalities. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of interior affirmed that such security campaigns will continue to arrest the violators of residency law. It urged citizens and expatriates to refrain from harboring violators of residency law and dealing with unlicensed domestic labor offices in order to avoid being held legally responsible.
