KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al- Sabah directed the need to intensify security campaigns and prosecute violators of the residency law to eliminate negative phenomena and limit violations related to residency procedures. The General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry said in a press statement that this came during the Minister of Interior’s tour on Thursday, accompanied by a number of concerned assistant undersecretaries, that included the financial affairs sector, the General Administration of Residency Affairs, the Department of Deportation and Temporary Arrest Affairs, in the context of his tours of all sectors of the ministry to see the progress of work and identify obstacles and develop solutions to them.

The department stated that the Minister of Interior began his tour by visiting the General Department of Financial Affairs and was received by the Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs Fawaz Al- Mashaan and the sector leaders. Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali praised the important and vital role played by the sector in achieving the integrated security system, stressing the need to take the initiative in developing work, especially with regard to digital transformation and the use of modern technologies in order to achieve speed in work and to develop future plans by making investment projects with financial returns for the benefit of the state budget. It pointed out that the Minister of Interior then continued his tour by visiting the General Administration of Residency Affairs and was received by the Assistant Undersecretary for Residency Sector Affairs Major General Anwar Al-Barjas and sector leaders, where he listened to an explanation of the department’s work and the efforts of its members in controlling violators of the residency law, and also heard from them about some of the obstacles facing their work. The Minister Thamer Al-Ali then toured the arrest warrants (men and women) of violators of the residency law and ordered an urgent study of these cases and finding solutions to them. , (KUNA)
