KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: Personnel from General Department of Residency Affairs have arrested a Syrian and the search is on for another person who works as a representative for an unidentified very important person for forging the signature of a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Interior in an attempt to obtain an entry visa, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the suspects forged the signature to bring into the country an expatriate of a forbidden nationality. It is reported the application for visit visa needs the approval of the Minister Interior or the Undersecretary for people of countries whose entry is subject to approval.

According to what a security source told the daily, the Residency Affairs Investigations received information about an expatriate attempting to finalize the entry procedure for a Syrian, and that there were suspicions that the signature on the transaction was a forged.

The source added the Syrian who applied to complete the transaction, was arrested and admitted that he handed it over to another person who works as a representative for an “important person”, as he called him, and the other accused is being pursued in preparation for referring them to the Public Prosecution.
