KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: In its weekly meeting on Monday, the Cabinet, headed by His Highness the Premier Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, offered sincere congratulations to the Kuwaiti leadership, namely His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, and to the Kuwaiti people on the advent of the 61st anniversary of the National Day, and the 31st anniversary of Liberation Day.

According to Deputy Premier and Acting Foreign Minister and Acting Minister for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Fares, the Cabinet recalled the great sacrifices made by the Kuwaiti people to defeat the Iraqi invasion and adhering to the homeland's legitimacy as a nation. The Cabinet also extended its appreciation and gratitude to the blessed efforts made by brothers and friends to liberate the State of Kuwait and clear it from the invading forces.

Then the Cabinet followed up on latest developments related to the Coronavirus pandemic, listening in this regard to a briefing by Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Saeed. It voiced relief over declining number of positive cases; deeming it "positive results", while urging the public to keep on abiding by health measures en route back to normalcy.

The Cabinet then reviewed National Assembly affairs, mainly the one related to renewing confidence in Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah on the February 16th parliament session, congratulating the aforementioned Cabinet member on the matter, as well as praising his competence in addressing interpellation items.

It also reviewed an interpellation filed by MP Abdullah Al-Mudhaf to Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Ali Al-Moussa. Renewing support for the minister in question, the Cabinet said based on Article 135 of the National Assembly Bylaw, the interpellation would be included in the agenda of the Forthcoming parliamentary session. Noting that interpellation is a right for MPs guaranteed by the Constitution, the Cabinet affirmed its full confidence in the Minister Al-Moussa and its keenness on backing him so to pursue sincere efforts in fulfilling the tasks accorded to him
