KUWAIT CITY, May 8: On the recommendation of the health authorities, the Council of Ministers decided to impose a comprehensive ban in the country from four in the afternoon from Sunday, May 10 to May 30.

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anas Al-Saleh said that the cabinet has prepared for the total lockdown since April 4 before the citizens were repatriated and we hope that life will return to normal after the holiday, after the health authorities finish all checks.

He added that the sectors excluded from the total ban are the health and security authorities, the vital services sector such as electricity, oil, municipality, and private sector companies that serve these vital activities.

For his part, Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah said that there will be a gradual opening keeping in view of precautionary measures after the period of a total lockdown

Al-Saleh pointed out that the government directed the Manpower Authority to liquidate the guarantees of the violating companies to pay the costs of travel of its workers, and we will not bear any cost outside the country.

The Minister of Health was Sheikh Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah had mentioned on April 20 that the ministry recommended implementing the total lockdown once the evacuation trips of citizens from abroad are completed.
