KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Ministry of Interior announced the Criminal Security Sector of the General Department for Drugs Control (GDDC) have arrested two Kuwaitis for possessing 27 marijuana seedlings, devices and special equipment for cultivation, a kilo of marijuana and 300 psychotropic pills of various, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry stated in a press statement after the GDDC received a tip-off that a Kuwaiti was cultivating marijuana plants and was trafficking narcotic substances securitymen got a search and arrest warrant from the Prosecution and raided the place in the suburb of Mubarak Al- Abdullah.

Police raided the man’s house and found 26 marijuana seedlings, a quarter kilo of narcotic marijuana, 300 tablets of different types of psychotropic substances and 2 sensitive scales. The search party said during interrogation the man admitted to trafficking in drugs and that he has been cultivating marijuana for about three years. He also confessed to possessing a farm in Wafra and admitted to hiding the narcotics on that farm. The search party then moved to the Wafra farm and seized one kilo of marijuana. After the arrest of the second suspect, whose name was disclosed by the first suspect, he admitted to helping the first suspect to cultivate marijuana, and admitted to hiding a quantity of narcotics in his house in the Mubarak Al-Abdullah area. When police raided his residence they found marijuana seedlings and 100 grams of marijuana. Meanwhile, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have arrested an unidentified Asian for possessing one kilo of heroin.
