KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: Kuwaiti Coast Guard men thwarted the attempt by two people to smuggle into the country narcotics via the sea, reports Al- Rai daily. According to the Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the General Administration of the Coast Guard personnel manning the marine borders spotted a boat in the northern part of the country moving suspiciously with the light off.
The patrolmen intercepted the boat and took into custody the two men and referred them to the Maritime Security Administration because they were caught inside Kuwait’s territorial waters.
During interrogations the men allegedly confessed to depositing a quantity of drugs on the sea floor and gave police the whereabouts of the drugs. The Coast Guard divers pull seven sealed bags from the depth of the sea containing narcotic pills. The suspects and the drugs have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control (GDDC).
