KUWAIT CITY, Aug 22: Based on a recent press statement of Bashayer Al-Khair Society Chairman Abdul Hamed Al-Balali that there are almost 40,000 drug addicts of different nationalities in the country, MP Abdula Al-Turaiji forwarded queries to Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah. He wanted to know the actual number of Kuwaiti drug addicts, their ages and average number in each governorate; number of youths referred to the Public Prosecution for involvement in drug related crimes in the last five years; and strategy of the ministry to combat such a dangerous phenomenon.
