KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The US Ambassador to Kuwait, Alina Romanowski, affirmed that her country and Kuwait enjoy a long and strong partnership in many areas including security, education, culture and trade, reports Al-Anba daily.
She noted that she will work hard to ensure the continued growth in these areas, especially the ties between the American and Kuwaiti people. She said in a speech addressed to the Kuwaitis on the occasion of her appointment as her country’s ambassador to Kuwait: “I am honored to represent my country as the ambassador of the United States in Kuwait … During my government work for 40 years, which focused largely on the Middle East, I saw a remarkable growth in cooperation between our two countries.”
She went on to say: “After my meeting with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, I am now looking forward to working together to develop Kuwaiti-American relations, and our lasting friendship should not depend only on our common history. I am committed to working with you and your government to strengthen these foundations for the future.” She added: “I will work to ensure the next generation of Americans and Kuwaitis feel proud of our cooperation and our shared values.”
