KUWAIT CITY, March 20, (Agencies): The Ministry of Health (MoH) is about to embark on a big awareness campaign during the next few days – in many languages and in various places and regions – to encourage people to register for the Covid-19 vaccination platform, and then receive the vaccine, reports Al-Jarida daily. The sources told the daily many workers are unable to visit the vaccination centers; therefore, the Ministry of Health has decided to reach them at their work places, pointing to the expansion of vaccination campaign during the coming period.
The health sources explained that the vaccination centers during the month of Ramadan will work in what the ministry called during ‘comfortable hours’ to provide vaccine during the fasting period and after breaking the fast, whether in the main vaccination center in Mishref or in other centers. However, all these details are expected to be announced within the next few days.
The same sources announced the opening of other vaccination centers soon, as the Ministry targets other segments for vaccination during the next stage, stressing that there is no justification for delay and reluctance to receive the vaccinations, in light of many great indications for the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, as vaccinations in Kuwait are very safe.
Symptoms
The sources indicated no symptoms have been shown by those who received the ‘Covid 19’ vaccination that are of any cause for concern. Therefore, those eligible for vaccination should hurry and receive the vaccination to protect themselves and society
Kuwait on Saturday reported 1,347 new coronavirus infections and five virus-related deaths to raise the total to 217,933 and 1,215 respectively, the health ministry said. The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 14,510, with 230 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. He revealed that some 8,447 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,960,138, adding that the positive case to test ratio amounted to 15.95 percent over the past 24 hours. The ministry had earlier reported that some 1,386 more people had been cured from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 202,208 He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. Kuwait Ministry of Health (MoH) will receive Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine ninth batch next Sunday, said the ministry Thursday.
In remarks to KUNA, the Assistant Undersecretary for Medicines and Medical Supplies at the Ministry, Dr. Abdullah Al- Bader, affirmed that the ministry contracted with the international company (Pfizer) directly. He stressed that the ministry constantly and carefully monitors the vaccines’ safety after their use, in addition to following up information and data on the safety, efficacy and quality of vaccines locally and globally and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and residents. Al-Bader called on citizens and residents to register on the vaccination platform while taking all preventive measures and avoiding contact with others and ensuring the implementation of the physical distancing strategy. The National Guard Bureau has called on its employees to receive the vaccination to protect against the Covid-19 virus in order to ensure their safety and the safety of society, reports Al- Seyassah daily.
