KUWAIT CITY, April 11: A Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by law for payment of KD 12,000 to a bank was arrested. According to security sources, Capital securitymen arrested the suspect at a security checkpoint and referred him to the concerned authorities. Also, a Kuwaiti citizen who has been sentenced in absentia to three-year imprisonment in a rape case was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities. In addition, an Indian expatriate who was in violation of the residency law and involved in a case of breach of trust was arrested and referred to Ardiya Police Station. Child dies: An Egyptian child died in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in front of a commercial complex in Jahra area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics were dispatched to the location. They found the young girl lying in a pool of her blood and checked her to realize she was dead. Her corpse was referred to the Forensics Department. After discovering the motorist had run away after hitting the child, securitymen sent information about him to all patrol teams. Information was then received that the motorist had surrendered himself at the police station of the area. During interrogations, he said he was driving down the road when the child suddenly crossed it and he was unable to stop the vehicle on time.
