KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: A 24-year old youth was arrested for using his mobile phone to harass a Kuwaiti girl by sending her a series of messages and indecent pictures in the mornings and evenings. According to security sources, the 1996-born girl reported at Hawally Police Station that an unknown individual was sending her messages and indecent pictures. The officers kept a tab on him until they identified him as a 24-year old youth and later arrested him. Acase has been registered against the suspect.
Couple selling drugs: Personnel from the General Department for Drugs Control have arrested a young Filipino couple for trafficking in shabu (methamphetamine), reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said police armed with a search and arrest warrant raided the apartment of the suspects in Salmiya and seized from them one kilo of meth and a scale.
Cheat nabbed: Police have taken into custody an unidentified Kuwaiti for cheating prospective young brides and robbing them, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added, the suspect sweet talked his victims into believing he was going to marry them and borrowed money from them and did the disappearing trick. The arrest came after several victims filed complaints with police. The suspect was picked from a legal line up.
Expired food seized: Police, in cooperation the Kuwait Municipality raided a kitchen of one of the wellknown restaurants and seized about 600 kilos of expired cooking oil and 100 kilos of imported meat, reports Al- Shahed daily. The restaurant has been administratively shut down and a case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Embezzler held: Police have taken into custody an unidentified Filipino female manager of an exchange company for allegedly embezzling KD 3,077, reports Al-Rai daily. The fraud was discovered by the auditors. The suspect during interrogation is said to have admitted to the charge. She also said she was in dire need of money and had plans to return the money. She has been handed over to the authorities.
